Writers & Editors Wanted!

Writers Wanted!

Bright Hub is looking for talented writers to contribute to one of the fastest growing communities online. If you have something bright to say…say it here!

We need writers offering their guidance to help people understand how technology impacts their work, their play, their lives. We are looking for highly qualified experts with substantial domain knowledge in any subject matter under one of 30+ technology channels.

There is a level of quality we expect from you if you choose to work with us. We require completely original content and diligently ensure this is the case for all content employed on our site.  Complete honesty, candor, and objectivity are rewarded here at Bright Hub.

If you’d like to write articles that are approximately 300-750 words in length using our online tool that guides you through the article creation process and get paid to do so while continuing to build your online reputation then let’s talk! Our Managing Editor team will be there to help you in terms of deciding what is important for readers to understand.

We will compensate writers $10 for an article in addition to future revenue sharing based on it's popularity.

Writer Responsibilities

For articles commissioned by Bright Hub and requested by a Managing Editor or Contributing Editor, the writer will:

Write articles based on the planning and analysis provided by the Managing Editor and the writing request and various creation and performance plans created by the Contributing Editor
Work with the Contributing Editor on changes to articles in order to meet Bright Hub’s quality standards
Promote and grow the popularity of articles through leveraging recommended search keywords and phrases and obtaining quality backlinks to written articles.
Update articles as requested by the Contributing or Managing Editor. Failure to maintain articles according to the article maintenance plan will result in the replacement of the consultant for that article with a different writer and a diversion of future revenues for that article to such new writer.

How are you paid?

Based on the effort and popularity of the content and the channel, each member in the value chain benefits economically.  There are two components of channel compensation:

Article Exchange Payments
Revenue Sharing

At the beginning of each month, each channel member will receive a compensation report. As long as the amount earned is above a minimum of $20, a payment will be sent. We require paypal for those outside the United States. Otherwise payment will be sent via paypal or check. If the minimum payout is not achieved, the amount will be carried over until the next month or until such time that the minimum is met. Payments will only be made if required paperwork is complete.

Reporting will be tracked by Bright Hub and each month everyone will receive a report. There is one requirement on your part. Bright Hub does not know which quality backlink was obtained by whom. So in order to receive compensation for backlinks, we will be requesting a list of backlinks obtained from each person.

Article Exchange Payments

There is a set of activities that channel members perform that will result in an Article Exchange Payment. This is not an advance on revenue sharing pay. The Article Exchange Payment will be credited to each participants account upon the publishing of the article. Article Exchange payouts will be processed on the second Friday of every month for work published the month prior. For example, for items published in August, your payment will be processed on September 12th.

The current payout schedule is as follows:

Task Payment Description
Article Writing $10.00 Writing the article in keeping with the opportunity description guidelines and having it published
Obtaining a quality Backlink $1.00 A quality backlink is a link from another website to your article on BrightHub.com.  The site needs to be highly relevant to your article and offer good, useful content.

Article Exchange Payments

Revenue sharing is on a per article basis formulated from number of page views and site revenue per thousand page views (RPM).  Revenue sharing payments will be made on a 60 day lag. For example, revenue share earned in August will be processed for payment on approximately October 10th. This payment is processed for you in the same manner that Bright Hub is paid from our advertising partners.

Task Payment
Managing Editor 5% * monthly site RPM * Total channel page views of original article content
Contributing Editor 15% * monthly site RPM * Total channel page views of original article content
Writer 80% * monthly site RPM * Total channel page views of original article content
