At Bright Hub, we hold our Contributors to a high standard of quality. We require completely original, objective, honest, and candid Content. Please review our Quality Standards in greater detail below:

We expect Writers to have a subject matter expertise relevant to the Content they are creating. We consider this critical to the overall quality of a piece of Content and reserve the right to remove Writers and Editors that do not meet this criteria.

In addition to the general Quality Standards for Bright Hub Content listed below, each piece of Content may be subject to additional requirements specific to that Content Engagement.,. These additional standards will be communicated to you prior to your acceptance of the Content Engagement.

You may not contribute or promote:

• Pornography, Nudity, or Sexually Explicit Material: We do not allow Content that contains pornography, nudity, sexually graphic material, or material that is otherwise deemed sexually explicit by Bright Hub, unless it is used as a content-relevant illustration for a medical or educational Contribution.
• If your medical or educational Contributions contain nudity or sexually explicit material, please indicate this at the top of your Content so that readers will understand the nature of the material and decide whether or not to view this Content.
• Hateful Content: You may not publish material that promotes hate toward groups based on race or ethnic origin, religion, disability, gender, age, veteran status, and sexual orientation/gender identity.
• Violent Content: You may not publish Content containing direct threats of violence against any person or group of people. We also ask users not to publish Content that contains graphic violence.
• Gambling Content: You may not publish content pertaining to the act of gambling or in support of the gambling industry.
• Misleading Content: You may not mislead consumers as to (i) the performance of products you review, or (ii) the compensation (of any kind) you receive from an advertiser or other third party in connection with your product reviews.
• Content Not Able to be Reviewed by Bright Hub: We ask that Contributions be written only in English. Other languages can be used as supporting Content with the approval of Bright Hub.

You may not contribute Content to the Site in a fashion deemed inappropriate by Bright Hub. If your Contributions include links to other websites and resources over which Bright Hub has no control or responsibility, the following limitations apply when linking to such websites and resources:

• Content Violating any Federal, state or local laws. Content must comply with all applicable laws regarding online conduct and publishing Content online and may not be used for promotion or solicitation of dangerous and/or illegal activities.
• Content Linking, Spam bots, Malicious Code, and Viruses. We do not allow spamming, transmission of malware, viruses or anything that might disrupt the Site or harm our users. You may not link Content to websites that have worms or viruses or any code of a destructive nature. You may not embed malicious code in Content or the Site or otherwise attack the Site or Service.
• Linking or Redirect. You may not link you Contributions to pages or third party sites that are unrelated to the topic and Content of your Contributions or attempt to automatically redirect Site users to other domains or use your Bright Hub account as storage for remote loading or to a website outside of the Site.
• Mislead Readers. You may not mislead users as to the topic or origins of your Contribution, or impersonate another Contributor or any representative or employee of Bright Hub. Contributions must not contain misleading titles and/or tags that don't match or relate to the topic of the Contribution.
• Authenticity and Service Availability. All external websites included as links in your Contributions must be carefully vetted by you to ensure the links are high quality, relevant and do not violate this Quality Standard Policy. You agree that you include links in and from your Contribution at your own and liability.
• Linking Contributions to Inappropriate Content. You may not link your Contribution(s) to websites that promote gambling or links to sites that promote/offer gambling for money. You may not link Contributions to websites that promote or are associated with prostitution and/or contains pornography, nudity, and sexually explicit material. The sites to which Contribution(s) link must comply with all local laws regarding acceptable online conduct and may not link to sites that promote solicitation of dangerous and illegal activities. You may not link your Contribution(s) to other websites in a manner that can be construed as overly promotional, including excessive linking to any one website domain.
• Commercial Activity. You may use Contribution(s) for your business or to promote your lawful products or services that are not otherwise prohibited by this Quality Standard Policy or the Bright Hub Terms of Service. There are, however, some prohibited commercial uses including:
• Contributions that have the primary purpose of redirecting visitors, acting as a bridge page, or driving traffic to another website.
• Contributions that have the primary purpose of profiting from displaying ads on third party websites, such as pages created with little or no unique content and exist only to display ads, or exist for the purpose of driving visitors to affiliate marketing pages or networks.

Bright Hub requires that your Contributions be original and not previously published online by anyone, including you. Duplication of Content reduces the value that both our readers and search engines place upon Bright Hub Content. Duplicate Content and can constitute plagiarism and/or copyright infringement. We take the Intellectual Property Rights of others very seriously and require Contributors to do the same. We have a zero tolerance policy on plagiarism and copyright violations, as follows:

• No Ghostwriters or Group Contributors: We cannot accept Contributions from a person obtaining Content from other individuals, i.e. from a ghostwriter or person who represents a group of writers. Under U.S. Law, the only person who can convey copyrights to us is the original Writer. For this reason, the actual author of Content must be its Contributor.
• No Plagiarism: Bright Hub prohibits plagiarism which is understood to mean the unattributed use of another person's Content and/or concepts. If you are copying text from any source including but not limited to a book, a website, a slide presentation, a PDF, a thesis paper, a scientific journal, a magazine, a newspaper, or any other source, you are directly using someone else's Content. Limited use of another person's concepts in your own words and/or very brief quotations with proper attribution may be acceptable if properly referenced and approved by an editor or by Bright Hub.
• No Copyright Violations: Bright Hub respects copyright law and requires all Contributors to strictly comply with U.S. and other applicable copyright laws. Because attribution does not cure copyright infringement, unauthorized use of another person's Content -even with attribution- may be actionable. The fair use provision of copyright law may apply in some cases. Often, however, a fair use defense must be proven in court to end a dispute. If you are relying on fair use, it must be documented and approved by Bright Hub or the relevant editor.
• Duplicate Detection: Bright Hub employs plagiarism and copyright infringement detection mechanisms on all Contributions to detect duplicative, plagiarized and copyright infringing Content. Contributions found to duplicate, plagiarize or infringe other Content will be removed and no Compensation will be paid for such Contributions.
• Copyright Violations. You should be familiar with Bright Hub's Copyright Policy. The Site follows the Digital Millenium Copyright Act "notice and take-down" procedures. If you feel that there has been a copyright infringement on the Site, please report it to media@brighthub.com.
